Riding on a calm Wellington winters night has the potential to lead to a rare and intriguing discovery… there are an absurd number of roasts being cooked on the south coast! …the air out there is thick with the smell of rosemary, bay leaves and lamb… you can almost feel the warmth of fresh blood dripping from the slaughter. Unfortunately no offerings were made to the passing peloton.

There is, I am almost certain, someone in Lyall bay with an undercover candle making operation… the aroma of beeswax making for a fine aperitif
